With profound sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear partner and friend, Ron Sege. Ron left us last Sunday after several months of a brave and stoic battle with an especially aggressive form of cancer.
Ron was far more than a colleague. He was a wise investor, a thoughtful leader, and a generous teammate whose presence elevated everyone around him. Throughout his remarkable 40-plus-year career—including formative chapters at 3Com, BGV, and several leading technology companies—Ron inspired those fortunate enough to work alongside him — most recently several of our portfolio companies founders and CEOs. His steady leadership, sharp business instincts, and unwavering integrity earned him deep respect across our industry.
But it is Ron’s warmth, kindness, and unmistakable sense of humor that we will miss most. He had a rare ability to connect with people, to listen without judgment, and to offer clarity when it was most needed. Our firm, and our lives, are better for having known him.
Ron is survived by his beloved spouse Mahasti and his four children and their families, who were his greatest pride and joy. Our hearts are with them during this incredibly difficult time, and we extend our deepest condolences to his entire family.
Ron’s legacy—of leadership, friendship, and humanity—will continue to guide and inspire us. May he rest in peace.
